For the past five years, I have researched, analysed, and compiled the annual Irish Times Feeder School Tables. This is a complex project involving the management and verification of over 20,000 data points. The work includes writing front-page news stories and prominent features on the tables, how to read them, and what they say about the state of Irish education today.
To accompany the 2014 tables, I wrote a piece on how your address affects your chances of going to college. With over 900 social media shares, it was one of the most popular articles on irishtimes.com that week, and it generated discussion both online and in The Irish Times letters page.
